The LIVING ARCHIVES projects

The first four months of the project

Ópusztaszer Senta

The project titled Living Archives – The Relics of  Common Cultural Heritage began on 1 March 2018. We summarized below all that has happened during the first report period.

ÓPUSZTASZER

In March, the opening event of the project was successfully organized at which numerous representatives of the media were present. Following this, the PRAG public procurement expert was appointed who fulfilled his work tasks as defined by a contract and completed project transactions such as: “Archival research”, “Project management”, “Restoration expert activities”, “Archaeological excavations”.

The archival research is continuously taking place in the MNL Archives of Csongrád County.

“Restoration expert activities” include the provision of restoration expertise as well as the preparation of the project documentation of the already completed restoration work. The procuration of the machinery collection restoration is being prepared based on the above mentioned documentation, whereas the call for proposal will be published in July.

The archaeological excavations are completed, a considerable number of artefacts had been found that were transported to the Móra Ferenc Museum in Szeged for further processing.

The person in charge of the technical inspection of the exhibition building for the machines has already been appointed and contracted.  The procurement for the new building is being prepared and is expected to be published in July.

SENTA

The archival research in the Historical Archives of Subotica and Senta has commenced. As a result, by the end of June a database had been completed that will be the basis for further source publications and it will also be available online by the end of the running year. The text of the first volume of the study has also been compiled in Hungarian.

The visual materials accompanying the project are also ready: the official poster, a roll-up and a brochure presenting the collaboration. The Facebook page of the project is also active, the first news have also been uploaded to the website.
