The LIVING ARCHIVES projects
The medieval city of Szer and the monastical complex is notably rich in archaeological finds. This made it necessary to implement archaeological investigations and excavations before the beginning of the building process, as otherwise the archaeological data would have been lost forever. The archaeological works were carried out by the Archaeological Department of the szeged museum, and were led by Dániel Pópity. The multi-layered site required meticulous care. Rich ceramic material and the remains of ovens from the Árpád Age get excavated and documented. Into the frying surface of the ovens ceramic pieces were pushed, which hopefully will make it able to reconstruct the whole pots.
